Will I die in forty days if I see the Angel of Death in my dream?
QUESTION:
Salaam,
I have a question regarding seeing the Angel of death in your dream. I know a lot of people have the belief that if you see him in your dream, you will die in forty days. I would like to ask if there is any truth at all in this?
ANSWER:
In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
As-salāmu ‘alaykum wa-rahmatullāhi wa-barakātuh.
We were unable to locate this. Thus, we should be cautious and avoid holding or spreading such beliefs, until an authentic reference and source is found.
Nevertheless, death is inevitable; and one should be prepared for it at all times. Allah Ta’āla states, “And when their time [of death] has come, they will not remain behind an hour, nor will they precede it.” [7:34]
May the Almighty increase you in your knowledge and keep you firm upon Islām. Āmeen
