Is it permissible to look at one’s watch while performing Salah?

لَوْ نَظَرَ فِي كِتَابٍ مِنْ الْفِقْهِ فِي صَلَاتِهِ وَفَهِمَ لَا تَفْسُدُ صَلَاتُهُ بِالْإِجْمَاعِ
[Fatāwā al-Hindiyyah: 1:101: Dār al-Fikr]

قوله ( لو نظر المصلى إلى مكتوب الخ ) وجه عدم الفساد أنه إنما يتحقق بالقراءة وبالنظر والفهم لم تحصل وإليه أشار المؤلف بقوله لعدم النطق ، قوله ( قصد الاستفهام ) بهذا علم أن ترك الخشوع لا يخل بالصحة بل بالكمال ولذا قال في الخانية والخلاصة إذا تفكر في الصلاة فتذكر شعرا أو خطبة فقرأها بقلبه ولم يتكلم بلسانه لا تفسد صلاته كما في البحر
قوله ( أساء الأدب ) لأن فيه إشتغالا عن الصلاة وظاهره ان الكراهة تنزيهية وهذا إنما يكون بالقصد وأما لو وقع نظره عليه من غير قصده وفهمه فلا يكره

لیکن اگر کوئی شخص وقت دیکھ ہی لے اور سمجھ لے البتہ زبان سے اس کا تلفظ نہ کرے تو نماز فاسد نہ ہوگی
