Is it permissible for a flight attendant to serve alcohol?
QUESTION:
I have seen and heard about the rulings of alochol according toh imam abu hanifa that if a Muslim indulges himself in a contract which is forbidden in islam and non Muslim has no problem with that contract it is permissible to honor that contract. If i as a flight attendant serve alcohol to a non muslim on flight(I dont like it but i have to).so is it permissible for me to do so?.
ANSWER:
In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
As-salāmu ‘alaykum wa-rahmatullāhi wa-barakātuh.
In principle, it is impermissible to serve alcohol to anyone, as this is directly assisting in sin. [1] Allah Almighty states,
وَلَا تَعَاوَنُوا عَلَى الْإِثْمِ وَالْعُدْان
And do not assist each other in sin and transgression [5:2]
In such a scenario, one should communicate their concerns with their manager, to abstain from directly serving alcohol. If this is not possible, then one should constantly seek forgiveness from Allah Almighty, whilst searching for alternative lawful work. [2]

ثم السبب إن كان سببا محركا وداعيا إلى المعصية، فالتسبب فيه حرام، كالإعانة على المعصية بنص القران كقوله تعالى: ﴿ولا تسبوا الذين يدعون من دون الله﴾ [الأنعام ١٠٨] وقوله تعالى: ﴿فلا تخضعن بالقول﴾ [الأحزاب ٣٢] وقوله تعالى: ﴿ولا تبرجن﴾ [الأحزاب:٣٣]

ایک سبب جالب وباعث جو گناہ کے لۓ محرک ہو کہ اگر یہ سبب نہ ہوتا تو صدور معصیت کے ہونے کی کوئی ظاہری وجہ نہ تھی۔ ایسے اسباب معصیت کا ارتکاب گویا خود معصیت ہی کا ارتکاب ہے۔
