Travel Costs

Shortened Question:

Is it permissible to travel to an office further away to make extra money?

Question:

Salam Imam sahib, I am an employee of multinational company based in England. In England, we have two offices. I am contracted to report to the head office. I also have a few people who report into me based at other office. The other office is quite far from head office and from my home. If I go to the other office, the company pays me a generous amount of money to cover my travel expense. This is a company standard and the calculation is based on mileage I have to travel. I actually make quite bit of extra money from travelling to the other office.

My question: is the extra money that I making from this travelling to the other office halal if that my main propose of me travelling is to make extra money?

Answer:

In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.

As-salāmu ‘alaykum wa-rahmatullāhi wa-barakātuh.

The extra money is permissible for you[1].
