Adding a surah in the 3rd or 4th rak`ah of fardh

Shortened Question:

Is it compulsory to make sajdah-e-sahw on adding a surah to surah al-fātihah in any of the last two raka’s of four rak`ah fardh salāh?

Question:

Asalaamualykum-wa-Rehmatullaahi-wa-Barakaatahu-wa-Magfeeratahu! Mohatram Mufti sahab! Umeed hai Aap hazrat khairiyat se honge!

  1. Aik sawaal ye thaa ke agar farz namaz infiradi padh rahe ho jaise 4 yaa 3 rakaat waali aur galti se baqi ki 2 yaa 1 rakaat main sureh fatiha ke baad koi sureh padh lee to kya sajda sahoo karna hai????
  2. Isi tareh agar imaam ke peeche padh rahe hon aur hame samjho aik rakaat jamaat se mili aur aakhir ki 1 rakaat main sureh faatiha ke baad koi sureh padh lee to kya sajde sahoo karna hai???

Please in sab ke jawaabat tafseel se inaayat farmayen. Jazaakumullaah…..

Answer:

In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.

As-salāmu ‘alaykum wa-rahmatullāhi wa-barakātuh.

  1. Us sae sajdah-e-sahw laazim nahee hogaa[1].
  2. Aap kaa sawaal mujmal hae. Wadhaahat kijiyae.
